As for your question about importing video files from a JVC camcorder into Camtasia Studio 7, you will need to ensure that the video files are in a format supported by Camtasia Studio 7. Generally, Camtasia supports formats like .AVI, .WMV, .MOV, and .MP4. If your JVC camcorder records in a different format, you may need to convert the files to a compatible format before importing them into Camtasia. There are many free and paid video conversion software options available that can help with this. Once your video format is compatible, you can use the "Import Media" option in Camtasia to add your video files to your project.
When i try to produce any video files on Camtasia studio 6 and you may see a message says "The selected video compression codec will not function correctly with the selected output size or color depth." appears when i cannot encode the video file because the video file is not supported due to an output size or color depth are incorrect support this format. Any problems to resolve it this program?

The error message you are encountering in Camtasia Studio 6 usually relates to the settings for video compression, output size, or color depth being incompatible with each other. Here are some steps to try and resolve the issue:
Check Codec Compatibility: Ensure that the video codec you are using is compatible with the output size and color depth you have selected. Some codecs have limitations on resolution or color depth.
Change the Output Size: Try changing the output video size. Sometimes, simply reducing the resolution might resolve the issue.
Adjust Color Depth: Try changing the color depth settings. For example, switch between 24-bit (high color) and 32-bit settings to see if it resolves the conflict.
Try a Different Codec: If you are using a third-party codec, try using a different one or the default codec provided by Camtasia, such as TechSmith Screen Capture Codec (TSCC).
Update Software: Although Camtasia Studio 6 is an older version, ensure it is updated to the latest available patch for any known bug fixes.
Reinstall Codecs: If you are using additional codecs like DivX or XviD, consider reinstalling them as they might be corrupted or improperly installed.
Consult Documentation/Support: Reference Camtasia documentation or contact TechSmith support for detailed assistance if the problem persists.
By adjusting these settings, you should be able to produce your video successfully.
The downloads available on Informer pages are genuine. What you download has been verified by viruses and marked as safe. However, the software's license is not free. As far as I know, Camtasia is a shareware product which means you have the possibility to download and use it for 30 days as a trial only, then it requires purchasing in order to function properly.
Unfortunately, animated GIF files can't be added into Camtasia. Sure, you can import the file, but it will be as a static image. There is no animation at this point. I have checked the official forums and the answers is the same. The latest version of Camtasia doesn't support animated GIFs to be embedded into timeline. I have tried adding a GIF image (as shown below), but it's static. There is no setting to make it animated. Camtasia only allows you to EXPORT to GIF.
Are there special plugins for video effects in CS or should I find them in program's interface? How to use lens flares and light effects in Camtasia Studio?

There are no plugins for Special Effects, but Camtasia already has some effects that you can apply to your videos. Once you load a video, drag it to the Timeline and then click the Visual Properties button. A new section will open, then scroll down a little until you see the Visual Effects section. To enable an effect, tick it and then scroll up and press ADD Animation.
I can't rotate videos in Camtasia Studio. It seems to be very easy but I really can't find the appropriate settings. Can you help?

You can apply all kind of transformation options for the loaded videos once you get them to your timeline.
The procedure is as follows: add the video from the Clip Library then drag it on the timeline. Activate Visual Properties and locate the Z axis (as shown in the image). That's the degree angle that your video will be rotated inside the canvas. If the canvas is too bit, you can increase it using the button on the upper-left area of the Camtasia application. Input the angle in the Z field and the video will rotate. The aspect ration button enlarges or reduces the size where the video fits. Make it a little bigger to be able to rotate the video while keeping all the elements visible.
While I cannot provide a guarantee for individual downloads, if you download Camtasia from the official TechSmith website, it should be safe and free from viruses. It is always recommended to download software from trusted sources to minimize the risk of malware or viruses.
What should I do to prevent Camtasia Studio from closing? Is it a bug? May I fix it?

Yes, it's known that Camtasia is somehow unstable. Even if the latest version is installed, most users will have issues with it because of various reasons. Mine crashed continuously because the XviD codec that I used, had wrong parameters and wasn't updated to the latest version. However, always use the Check for Updates because this way you will have the latest version installed and your bug might be fixed with a new installation.
To check for updates go to Help > Check for updates. Make sure you are connected to the Internet before activating this function.
To open the download manager in Internet Explorer, you need to press the Ctrl + J key combination. This is also available for Opera, Google Chrome and Firefox. After you opened the manager, right click on the program and choose Resume.
If you are using a Download Manager tool, you need to open it and resume the download from there.

No, deprecating the 'unload' event in Chrome/Edge should not impact SCORM trainings built with Camtasia.
